Created by (gamer herself) Felicia Day, the show is authentic inside look of the world of online gaming, online and offline, and features guest stars including Brent Spiner, Nathan Fillion and Stan Lee among others. It is truly a landmark in the history of web series.
Following the release of episode 37, the series has been put on indefinite hiatus due to a case of Creator Breakdown, while Antoine moved on to other projects, such as an audio series named Clyde Vanilla.
ABC claims to be the first major network to bring its content to the Internet in 2006 (never mind all those takedown notices YouTube periodically has to wade through). Today, we count a total of 16 series in ABC's section of full episodes, with most of the network's other shows racking up at least short clips and behind-the-scene shorts in another section of the site. ABC's video player launches in a separate window and took around five to 10 seconds to load, and was strangely the only player among the sites we reviewed that required a Java plug-in to play videos.
Out of ABC's lineup of series with full episodes, most only offered a handful of very recent episodes from the current season. Dancing with the Stars had 20+ episodes, and all four seasons of Lost were available in HD streaming, but the approach here clearly is to help viewers stay on top of what's happening in the current season.
Organization is a little clunkier at CBS, however, as full episodes for a show are lumped in with mere clips, forcing us to use the readily available filters for full episodes each time we browsed a new series. As far as selection goes, CBS takes the same approach as ABC: only a recent handful of episodes from the current season is available, which is great for those who need to catch up, but not ideal for those who are just discovering a show in the middle of its running.
The network responsible for destroying some of the greatest animated series of our time (Futurama, Family Guy) offers 19 shows with full episodes. Browsing shows is straightforward, and we were pleasantly surprised to see a plethora of episodes available from the current seasons of most shows (if not the entire season), though only American Dad offers both seasons two and three. 2b1af7f3a8
